Joining Hands to Improve Nutrition Indicators in Rukwa Region

With 47% stunting rate (TNS 2018) above national average 32%, Rukwa is one of the regions in Tanzania with high under-nutrition rates despite being one of the bread basket regions of Tanzania. Before Lishe Endelevu interventions, Rukwa had not recently received any donor support targeting nutrition.

Meet Mr. Donat Mdao (47 years old) a Lishe Endelevu crop model farmer who lives in Kongwa at Matongoro ward of Dodoma Region. He is a farmer and the only parent to his three under five children after his wife passed away a year ago.

How ‘Lishe Endelevu - Sustainable nutrition project impacted the lives of People in Morogoro during Covid-19 pandemic!

At the beginning of 2020, plans by Save the Children to continue with the expansion and implementation of the 'Lishe Endelevu' (Sustainable nutrition) project in Morogoro region got off to a good start. By this time, other countries, including China, had reports of a newly deadly Covid-19 virus pandemic, and on March 16, 2020, Tanzania reported the first case of the virus.

Ensuring Every Child is Protected in Zanzibar

Despite strides by the government and stakeholders to eradicate violence, there are still many children in Tanzania who report experiencing violence and abuse; many of them failing to receive immediate support. 

According to government statistics collected from the police, about 1,091 abuse and violence- related incidents were reported to various police stations in Unguja and Pemba in 2017/2018, compared to 2,449 incidents that were reported in 2016/2017.
