Stars join children’s organisations to launch campaign of violence against children across Africa

Save the Children is among Africa’s largest children’s organisations that has launched Action on Violence Against Children (AVAC), a campaign to build public awareness, and galvanise political will and resources around the staggering incidence and impact of abuse and violence against children which is supported by Kenyan band Sauti Sol, South African singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Kenyan newscaster Janet Mbugua

Children Councils and Young Reporters meet with Political Parties Representatives.

As Tanzania approaches election period, and new political promises are being made by various politicians in the wake of campaigns, children issues also appear high on their agendas.

The 2015 Tanzania Race for Survival took place on Zanzibar, on June 13th, 2015 coinciding with the Day of the African Child. A total of 144 children, women and men joined in the Race together with government officials from various ministries, children from Children’s Councils, partner agencies and those who wanted to give their support to this interesting event. Roughly there were up to 5,000 people at the stadium on that Saturday.
